Ten Elephants

This latest series of paintings explores my interest in Asian elephants and the way they are depicted in Indian Muhgal Dynasty miniatures. There's a stylized and cartoon-like quality in the original works that I like. Exaggerated characteristics combined with well observed anatomical details create a dynamic and animated hyper realistic image that looks contemporary in a graphic novel sense.
