2006

John Recco: Sacred Greek Landscapes Exhibition

Recco is a participant in the local artist program at the museum. His work is the result of a senior level Fulbright grant for Greece. His focus is on the relationship between the landscape and the selected temple sites throughout Greece. These oil paintings are of Greek landscapes filled with ancient artifacts, architecture, and native flora.

Maliotis Cultural Center

The Sacred Greek Landscape exhibition highlights paintings that are associated with John's recent Fulbright to Greece. John was awarded a Senior Level Fulbright for his proposal to research and observe through painting, the relationship between the landscape and sacred temple sites at various locations in Greece.

 


2004

Homage to the Beatles: 40 Years Hence

It is 40 years since The Beatles "invaded America" and the American psyche on The Ed Sullivan Show. Recco celebrates this anniversary by incorporating Beatles album covers into his still-life paintings to create a running narrative of his childhood memory through a contemplation of objects that hold meaning for him.

 


2000

Kitchen Fit: New Paintings by John Recco

will open to the public on June 3, 2000 at the Williams College Museum of Art (WCMA). The exhibition, featuring a small group of Recco's still-life paintings, continues the museum's annual summer series of regional artist show. The artist will speak about his work as part of this year's "Discover Our Berkshires" week.
